China Sanctions 56 US Companies in New Trade and Security Escalation

DID Press: Government of China has imposed new restrictions on 56 companies from the United States, marking a fresh escalation in ongoing trade and security tensions between the two global powers.

According to China’s Ministry of Commerce, the measures are part of updated export control policies aimed at safeguarding national security and regulating dual-use technologies.

The announcement confirms that 10 U.S. companies have been added to China’s export control list, while 46 others have been banned from participating in government procurement contracts and tenders.

Officials stated that exports of goods, technologies, and related items to the listed firms will now be subject to stricter licensing requirements and enhanced regulatory scrutiny.

The ministry added that the decision is intended to protect national interests, ensure supply chain stability, and uphold China’s international obligations, including non-proliferation commitments.

The move comes amid broader geopolitical friction between Beijing and Washington, particularly over technology transfers, industrial competition, and strategic security concerns.
