Saikal Calls on Anti-Taliban Groups to Unite Against Afghanistan’s Crises

DID Press: Former Afghanistan ambassador to UN Mahmoud Saikal has urged opponents of the Taliban to set aside internal differences and develop a unified strategy and alternative political structure to address Afghanistan’s internal crises and foreign interference.

Saikal said the absence of legitimacy and rule of law under Taliban governance has left Afghanistan increasingly vulnerable to external interventions.

Referring to recent Pakistani strikes, he stressed that opposition groups must overcome divisions and work toward a shared political vision and coordinated framework capable of responding effectively to both security and political challenges.

He further stated that no external crisis can confer legitimacy on Taliban rule, adding that mere condemnation of Pakistani attacks without practical and deterrent measures would not prevent their recurrence.
