Iran’s Ambassador: Tehran–Taliban Relations Advancing Toward Expanded Cooperation
DID Press: Iranian ambassador in Kabul has said that relations between Tehran and the Taliban administration are moving in a constructive direction, highlighting Iran’s readiness to expand economic, trade, and infrastructure cooperation with Afghanistan.

Alireza Bigdeli made the remarks during the opening ceremony of the fifth Kabul International Exhibition, stating that growing engagement between the two sides could further strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation.
He emphasized Iran’s support for Afghanistan’s private sector in pursuing economic independence, development, and public welfare, adding that an economy-focused approach forms the basis of sustainable relations between neighboring countries.
Bigdeli identified infrastructure development—including railways, roads, dams, industry, and agriculture—as key drivers of Afghanistan’s economic growth. He also urged traders and investors from both countries to take advantage of current conditions to expand commercial ties.
The ambassador pointed to the strong presence of Iranian companies at the Kabul exhibition as evidence of Tehran’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Afghanistan. He noted that these firms are active in industries such as manufacturing, mining, machinery, construction materials, energy, engineering services, and modern technologies.
