DID Press: Several explosive devices detonated near a hotel in Damascus as French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in the Syrian capital for an official visit, according to security sources.

Reuters, citing a security source, reported that the blasts occurred near the hotel where Macron was scheduled to stay during his visit to Syria.

Following the explosions, roads leading to the area were closed and heavy security measures were imposed around the location. A Reuters journalist at the scene also reported hearing multiple blasts.
