Iran Warns of Response After Reports of Blasts Near US Base

DID Press: Reports of explosions near a US military facility in Bahrain coincided with a sharp warning from Iran’s armed forces, which vowed a “decisive response” to what it described as US aggression and declared that Tehran would not allow foreign interference in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to media reports, several explosions were heard near the Isa Air Base and the headquarters of the United States Fifth Fleet in Bahrain. The reports have not been officially confirmed, and the circumstances remain unclear.

In a statement, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said the unprecedented turnout at the funeral of the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, demonstrated national unity and dealt what it described as a setback to the United States.

The statement further alleged that US forces had carried out strikes on parts of southern Iran while the Martyred Leader’s funeral ceremonies were underway in Iraq, accusing Washington of violating its commitments.

Iran’s armed forces warned they would deliver a “decisive response” and reiterated that they would not permit any foreign interference in the Strait of Hormuz. The statement also asserted that the only safe route for commercial vessels and oil tankers through the strategic waterway would be the route designated by Iran.
