DID Press: Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has accused the United States of violating the commitments of a war termination memorandum, describing a reported US attack on monitoring facilities along Iran’s southern coast as a “military aggression” and warning that Washington would bear responsibility for any escalation.

In a statement, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the US military carried out attacks early Wednesday, 17 Saratan, against several monitoring and surveillance centers on Iran’s southern coastline, calling the action a violation of Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the UN Charter.
The ministry said the strikes also breached the first clause of the war termination memorandum regarding the suspension of military operations. It added that recent US measures, including the reported decision by the US Treasury Department to revoke authorization for Iranian oil sales, as well as continued Israeli military actions against Lebanon, represented further violations of agreed commitments.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry further stated that continued US military actions and new sanctions, along with disputes over arrangements related to the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon, had undermined key elements of the agreement.
The ministry held Washington responsible for the consequences of rising tensions and urged southern Gulf countries not to allow their territories or facilities to be used for actions against Iran.
It warned that any cooperation by regional states in facilitating military operations against Iran would be viewed by Tehran as participation in what it described as an “act of aggression.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned what it called repeated US violations and stressed the responsibility of the United Nations Security Council and the UN secretary-general in maintaining regional and international peace and security.
The ministry added that Iran’s armed forces would continue defending the country’s territorial integrity and national security under Article 51 of the UN Charter, warning that any continued attacks would be met with responses targeting the “source and origin of aggression.”
