DID Press: Eric Brewer, former official at the U.S. National Security Council, has criticized Donald Trump’s handling of the recent conflict and diplomacy, saying the U.S. president is now facing the consequences of his own choices.

Brewer said the agreement reached by Trump was not a “four-dimensional chess move,” but rather a vague understanding that postponed many key issues to the future.
He argued that Trump accepted the deal because of concerns over the economic costs of prolonging the war and doubts that further military strikes would achieve greater results.
“Now he is reaping what he sowed — both from a failed war and ineffective diplomacy,” Brewer said.
