The Atlantic: Iran Dictated the Course of the War

DID Press: The Atlantic has argued that Iran seized the strategic initiative during the conflict, while the Trump administration failed to achieve its objectives and lost control over the course of events.

In its analysis, the US magazine said President Donald Trump believed his administration could fully control the trajectory of the conflict, but developments on the ground unfolded differently from White House expectations.

The report also claimed that the subsequent agreement reached between Tehran and Washington reflected a shift in the balance of power in Iran’s favor, arguing that Trump accepted the deal as a means of ending the conflict.

The Atlantic further criticized the US administration, alleging that White House decision-makers entered the confrontation without a clear strategy and relied on incomplete intelligence and flawed assessments.

According to the publication, Washington’s miscalculations regarding both the course of the conflict and Iran’s internal dynamics were among the key factors behind the administration’s failure to achieve its stated goals.
