DID Press: Iran is seeking to transform its confrontation with the United States from a military conflict into an economic one, according to Mehran Kamrava, a political scientist at Georgetown University in Qatar.

Citing CNN, Kamrava said Tehran recognizes that it cannot match the military capabilities of the United States and Israel, prompting it to pursue economic leverage instead of direct military competition.
He added that Iran is determined to preserve the Strait of Hormuz as a strategic pressure point and has achieved a measure of success in using the vital waterway to influence regional dynamics.
The report also stated that the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran on February 28.
