Iran Expands Strikes on US Bases Across Gulf Region

DID Press: Iran has launched a new wave of missile and drone strikes targeting US military facilities in Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain, marking a major escalation in the ongoing confrontation between Tehran and Washington. Iranian military statements described the attacks as retaliation for recent US actions, while regional reports indicated heightened air defense activity across the Gulf.

According to statements released by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army, key US military infrastructure—including logistics hubs, command centers, aircraft shelters and fuel storage facilities—was targeted in coordinated operations across the region.

In Kuwait, the IRGC claimed that the main US logistics and support facility at Mina Abdullah (KJL) was struck during the fourth phase of Operation Nasr 2, alleging the site was heavily damaged. The statement also asserted that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed “until US hostilities end.”

In Jordan, the Iranian Army said the eighth phase of Operation Sa’eqeh targeted US military infrastructure at Al Azraq Air Base, including facilities housing F-18 fighter jets and military equipment. The military stated that Iran’s operations were conducted in response to what it described as continued US aggression.

In Bahrain, the IRGC announced that the fifth phase of Operation Nasr 2 struck command-and-control facilities, fuel depots and logistics infrastructure associated with the US Fifth Fleet, warning that Iran could expand operations against additional routes linked to US and allied interests.

Separately, Iran’s Farhikhtegan newspaper, citing the IRGC’s Statement No. 13, claimed that shelters for F-15, F-16 and F-35 aircraft, along with several MQ-9 drones, had also been targeted at Al Azraq Air Base. The report additionally called on Jordanians to oppose the continued presence of US forces in the country.

Meanwhile, a security official from Kata’ib Hezbollah in Iraq warned that any further US or Israeli military action against Iran would trigger an immediate response from what the group described as the Iraqi resistance.

The reported strikes come amid one of the most serious periods of direct confrontation between Iran and the United States in recent years, with regional analysts warning that continued escalation could pose significant risks to Gulf security, maritime trade and global energy markets.
