Atwan: Israel Faces Strategic Attrition and Gradual Collapse
DID Press: Arab political analyst Abdel Bari Atwan says Israel has entered a phase of strategic attrition that could lead to gradual collapse, arguing that recent regional confrontations have exposed growing military and political vulnerabilities.

Atwan said Israel is experiencing a sustained process of strategic erosion as a result of its confrontation with the Axis of Resistance, adding that some Israeli analysts believe signs of gradual institutional decline are becoming increasingly evident.
He also argued that US military bases across the region have become increasingly vulnerable targets and lack the capacity to adequately protect either themselves or their host countries.
According to Atwan, the deteriorating regional security environment is also complicating decision-making in Washington, with US policymakers facing mounting challenges in managing escalating Middle East crises.
