Pakistan’s Daily Fuel Pricing Drives Sharp Rise in Petrol, Diesel Costs

DID Press: Pakistan has recorded a sharp increase in fuel prices following the introduction of a daily pricing mechanism, raising concerns over higher transportation costs and mounting inflationary pressures.

Under the new policy, the government has again increased petrol and diesel prices to align domestic fuel rates more closely with fluctuations in global oil markets.

According to official figures, petrol prices have risen by a cumulative 20.81 Pakistani rupees per liter over the past six days, while diesel prices have increased by 55.36 Pakistani rupees per liter.

Following the latest adjustments, the retail price of petrol has reached 331.52 Pakistani rupees per liter, while diesel now costs 378.66 Pakistani rupees per liter.

The Pakistani government said the daily pricing mechanism is intended to ensure faster adjustments to international oil price movements and reduce delays in updating domestic fuel prices.
