DID Press: Two mosques in the occupied West Bank were set on fire within 24 hours in separate attacks allegedly carried out by Israeli settlers, marking the latest escalation in attacks on Palestinian religious sites, according to local media reports.
The latest incident occurred in the village of Kur, south of Tulkarm, where settlers reportedly stormed the area and set the village mosque ablaze during the night.
Hours earlier, another mosque in the town of Qusra, south of Nablus, was targeted in a similar attack, raising fresh concerns over the safety of religious sites in the occupied Palestinian territory.
With the attack on the mosque in Kur, the number of mosques reportedly set on fire in a single night rose to two, underscoring a new wave of assaults on places of worship in the West Bank.
The incidents come amid heightened tensions across the occupied Palestinian territories, where attacks involving Israeli settlers and Palestinians have intensified in recent months.
