Iraq Condemns US-Saudi Strikes, Approves New Security Measures

DID Press: Iraq’s National Security Council has condemned reported U.S. and Saudi military strikes on Iraqi territory and approved a comprehensive security plan aimed at preventing the country’s territory from being used to threaten neighboring states.

According to official reports, the decision was made during a meeting chaired by Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi. The council also instructed the Foreign Ministry to document the reported attacks and pursue Iraq’s legal rights under international law and the United Nations Charter.

The National Security Council stressed that any response to attacks against Iraq falls exclusively within the authority of the country’s constitutional institutions and legally mandated state bodies.
