Iran Pledges Support for Afghanistan Exports to Regional Markets

DID Press: Iran’s Consul General in Herat has said Tehran is working to help Afghanistan expand its exports to regional markets, emphasizing that the country should not remain solely an importer of goods.

Speaking to reporters, Alireza Marhamati said strengthening economic cooperation with Afghanistan is one of Iran’s priorities in bilateral relations.

He said Iran supports initiatives aimed at boosting Afghanistan’s domestic production and export capacity so the country can not only meet its internal needs but also increase the presence of Afghan products in Iranian and regional markets.

Marhamati also stressed the importance of expanding trade cooperation, encouraging joint investment, and strengthening economic ties between the two neighboring countries.
