Taliban: Afghanistan Territory Poses No Threat to Other Countries

DID Press: Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid has reiterated that no individual or group is allowed to use Afghan territory to threaten other countries, dismissing recent security concerns raised by China and Pakistan.

The statement came after the special envoys of China and Pakistan expressed concern during recent meetings over the activities of militant groups and the possibility of security threats originating from Afghanistan.

Responding to those concerns, Mujahid said security has been established across Afghanistan and that the Taliban’s position on the issue is “clear.”

He rejected claims that Afghan territory could be used to launch attacks against other countries, describing such concerns as “propaganda.” Mujahid also argued that each country’s internal security challenges are its own responsibility.
