Iran Says No Obstacle to Issuing Visas to Afghans

DID Press: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said there are no obstacles to issuing visas to Afghan applicants and that Iran’s Foreign Ministry is ready to cooperate in this regard.

Speaking at a meeting with officials from Razavi Khorasan province, Araghchi said that problems affecting border provinces should be addressed at the regional level and through cooperation between the border provinces of Iran and Afghanistan, rather than through direct negotiations between Kabul and Tehran.

Referring to Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkmenistan, Araghchi said Iran’s neighboring countries represent some of the country’s most important economic opportunities under sanctions.

He added that Razavi Khorasan province has the authority to expand trade and cross-border movement with neighboring countries.
