Taliban Leader: We Will Not Accept Demands Contrary to Sharia
DID Press: Taliban supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada said during a ceremony marking the fifth anniversary of the group’s return to power that his government would not accept demands that contradict Sharia.

He called on the Afghan people to maintain unity and obedience and urged them not to be influenced by propaganda from opponents of the Taliban.
The ceremony was held on Saturday night at Kandahar Military Airport, attended by a number of Taliban civilian and military officials.
The remarks came as the Taliban marked five years since their return to power on August 15, 2021. International organizations and rights groups continue to criticize the group’s policies, particularly restrictions imposed on women and girls.
