Taliban Approve Construction of 200-Bed Hospital in Helmand

DID Press: Taliban’s Economic Directorate has announced plans to build a 200-bed hospital in Afghanistan’s Helmand province at a cost of 214 million Afghanis.

According to an official statement, the project was approved during the latest meeting of the Taliban’s National Procurement Commission. Construction is expected to take two years and will cover an area of 12,000 square meters.

The hospital will provide emergency, outpatient, orthopedic, surgical, ophthalmology, mental health, pediatric, and obstetric and gynecological services.Taliban officials said the project aims to improve healthcare services in Helmand and expand public access to specialized medical treatment.
