Afghanistan Warns of Heavy Rain, Flash Floods in 10 Provinces
DID Press: Afghanistan’s Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rainfall and possible flash floods in 10 provinces over the next day, urging residents in vulnerable areas to take precautions.

The provinces at risk are Badakhshan, Nuristan, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Logar, Paktia, Khost, Kapisa and Parwan, according to the weather department.
Strong winds are also forecast in parts of western, southern, southeastern, eastern and central Afghanistan, the department said.
Authorities have urged residents in vulnerable areas to avoid approaching flood channels, waterways and other areas prone to flash flooding during periods of heavy rain.
The warning comes after Afghanistan experienced a series of damaging flash floods this year, particularly in eastern and central provinces. UNICEF reported that recent flooding damaged homes, roads, bridges, agricultural land and other critical infrastructure in several provinces.
