DID Press: Zmiruddin Hafizi, a member of Afghanistan’s national Zurkhaneh sports team, defeated his New Zealand opponent at the 2026 World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan.
Hafizi competed in the 90-kg category early Saturday and secured a 4–3 victory over the New Zealand representative.
He is scheduled to compete in his second bout later today.
The 6th World Nomad Games are being held in Kyrgyzstan, with athletes from more than 100 countries participating in traditional sports and cultural competitions. The Games opened in Bishkek on Aug. 31 and are scheduled to continue through Sept. 6.
