Achakzai: Afghans, Iraqis Have Paid the Highest Price for Foreign Intervention

DID Press: Mahmood Khan Achakzai, leader of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, has strongly criticized Western policies in Afghanistan and Iraq, saying the people of both countries have borne the greatest costs of war and foreign intervention and warning that continuing such policies could fuel further instability and violence.

Achakzai criticized the policies of the United States and European countries toward Afghanistan and Iraq, arguing that instead of promoting stability, these approaches have deepened humanitarian crises and mistrust in both countries.

He said the people of Afghanistan and Iraq have paid the highest price for war and foreign intervention, adding that decisions made in Western capitals, driven by geopolitical interests, have made the two countries’ social and political structures more vulnerable.

Achakzai also criticized what he described as double standards on human rights, calling for human rights principles to be applied equally and without discrimination across all countries.

He warned that continuing current policies could contribute to greater instability and violence.

According to Achakzai, Afghanistan has paid a heavy price as a result of war and foreign intervention over more than two decades.
