DID Press: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said its naval forces had seized a U.S. Remus 600 unmanned underwater vehicle in the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC said the vehicle had been used for what it described as “espionage” activities in the region and that it was seized during a “complex and coordinated” operation.
According to the IRGC, the unmanned submarine is now in the possession of Iranian specialists, who are examining its equipment and the information stored on it.
U.S. officials had not commented on the reported seizure at the time of publication.
