DID Press: Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, leader of Afghanistan’s Hezb-e Islami, has warned that Pakistan’s alleged efforts to destabilize Afghanistan and trigger a civil war will fail and could ultimately threaten Pakistan’s own security.
In a post on X, Hekmatyar criticized what he described as Pakistan’s attempts to create insecurity in Afghanistan.
He alleged that Islamabad was using various methods to provoke a civil war in Afghanistan, but said Pakistan would not achieve its objective.
Hekmatyar said that several major powers, led by the United States, had previously attempted to pursue similar objectives in Afghanistan but had failed.
He warned that continued efforts to destabilize Afghanistan could eventually put Pakistan’s own security at risk.
