DID Press: US President Donald Trump has reiterated that Ukraine should hold elections, saying President Volodymyr Zelenskyy must make arrangements for voters to return to the polls.

Trump made the remarks on Saturday, October 10, while speaking to reporters at Joint Base Andrews near Washington, as he returned from Tennessee to the White House.
“I think he should hold an election, and he could have settled this a number of times. He should hold an election,” Trump said.
Earlier that day, Trump had also called for a change in Ukraine’s leadership, saying it was time for the country to have a new president.
Trump’s comments come as Ukraine remains under martial law amid its ongoing war with Russia. Ukrainian law prohibits holding national elections under martial law, which has been in place since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022. Zelenskyy has previously said he would be prepared to hold elections if security could be guaranteed.
