Hezbollah Reportedly Pays Housing Costs for Families Displaced by Israeli Attacks

DID Press: Lebanese journalist Khalil Nasrallah says Hezbollah is paying accommodation costs for people displaced by Israeli attacks and covering the replacement of household furniture in homes destroyed in the strikes. According to Nasrallah, the assistance is provided regardless of families’ political affiliations, religious beliefs, sectarian backgrounds or places of residence.

Nasrallah criticized the Lebanese government, saying it had taken no effective action to address these needs. He argued that officials’ failure to fulfil their responsibilities had further harmed affected families.

He described Hezbollah’s assistance as a response to critics who have called for the government to play a greater role in supporting displaced people and compensating families whose homes have been destroyed. He also characterized the move as a political blow to Washington and the US secretaries of the Treasury and State.

The remarks come as the accommodation of displaced people and compensation for families affected by Israeli attacks remain major challenges for Lebanon.
