Afghanistan’s Abu Hanifa Expo Sees $934.8M in Trade Agreements
DID Press: Trade contracts and memorandums of understanding worth a total of $934.8 million have been signed between Afghan businesspeople and their foreign counterparts at the fifth Abu Hanifa National and International Exhibition, according to Sayed Karim Hashemi, head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment.

Hashemi announced the figure at the exhibition’s closing ceremony, saying the agreements were reached following business meetings between representatives of Afghanistan’s private sector and foreign traders.
He said exhibitions of this kind provide opportunities for foreign investors to learn about Afghanistan’s economic potential and can help expand the country’s trade cooperation with other nations.
However, the announced value of the contracts and memorandums does not, by itself, indicate how much investment will actually be realized. Their economic impact will depend on the parties’ implementation of their commitments.
