Pakistan Reports 23 Drone Incursions from Afghanistan in September
DID Press: Pakistani media have reported that at least 23 drone incursions from Afghanistan into Pakistani airspace were recorded in September, prompting responses from Pakistan’s air defence systems and diplomatic protests by Islamabad to Kabul.

According to the reports, Pakistan described the alleged incursions as provocative and warned of their potential security consequences. However, no independently verified details have been released establishing the origin of the drones or identifying those responsible for the reported flights.
The report also highlights concerns over the growing availability of commercial technology that can be adapted for military use. Fixed-wing suicide drones can be assembled using commercially available components, automated navigation systems and small engines, raising security concerns for countries across the region.
Pakistan has publicly accused Afghanistan of drone incursions. On September 24, Pakistani officials said air defence systems had detected and neutralised drones that entered the country from Afghan territory. Afghanistan’s Taliban authorities denied that their government had launched the drones. The reported figure of 23 incursions during September has not been independently verified.
