Oil Prices Surge After US Orders Diplomats to Leave Saudi Arabia

DID Press: Oil prices rose following an increase in attacks by Yemen’s Ansarullah forces against Saudi Arabia and a US order for some diplomats and their family members to leave the country.

Reuters reported that Brent crude rose by $1.29, or 1.2%, to $110.11 per barrel. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude also gained 97 cents, or 1%, to trade at $98.12 per barrel.

According to the report, the US State Department is also considering withdrawing family members of staff from several other American diplomatic missions across the region.

The developments come amid rising regional tensions and growing concerns about an expansion of the conflict, putting additional pressure on global oil markets.
