Afghanistan-Iran Border Road Nears Completion in Herat and Farah

DID Press: Construction of a border road along the Afghanistan-Iran frontier in parts of Herat and Farah provinces is progressing significantly and approaching its final stages.

Mujibullah Ansar, spokesperson for the 207th Al-Farooq Army Corps, said the project aims to strengthen border security, facilitate round-the-clock patrols by security forces, and prevent smuggling.

Ansar said completing the road would make it easier for security personnel to move along the border and improve connections between border outposts.

He added that, beyond its security functions, the road would also facilitate travel for residents of border communities.

The project is expected to strengthen monitoring along the Afghanistan-Iran border and help reduce smuggling and other illegal activities in the area.
