Campaigning in the United States has once again been marked by verbal clashes and personal attacks between political rivals. Trump, who has portrayed the Republican Party’s position in the upcoming midterm elections as being under pressure, has used various tactics, including mockery and accusations against his opponents, particularly Al-Sayed, a Muslim Senate candidate from Michigan.

At a campaign rally in Michigan, Trump called Abdulrahman Mohammed Al-Sayed a “jihadist” and “aligned with terrorists.” He also claimed that Al-Sayed should have to pass through a metal detector to enter the Senate.
