DID Press: Josh Shapiro, the governor of the US state of Pennsylvania, has criticized President Donald Trump’s decision to enter a war with Iran, saying Trump launched the conflict without providing clear reasons and failed to explain to the American public why it was necessary.
Shapiro stressed that Washington was not adequately prepared for foreseeable consequences of the war, including Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.
He also said rising fuel prices were among the consequences of the conflict, stating that gasoline had reached around $4.70 per gallon, while diesel had risen to more than $6.50 per gallon.
The remarks come as the economic consequences of the war and disruptions to energy transit routes spread to Western countries, including the United States, with European countries particularly affected.
