Iran’s Supreme Leader Calls for Immediate Response to Threats, Without Geographical Limits

DID Press: Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, has called for full combat readiness to counter potential threats, ordering that any threat be met with an immediate and effective response, without geographical limitations.

During a meeting with senior Iranian armed forces commanders, Khamenei said that if military or terrorist attacks were launched again, Iran’s armed forces and people would determine the timing and conditions for ending the conflict.

He described “intelligent combat readiness to confront enemies with full force” as essential to achieving “maximum deterrence” and instructed that every level and type of threat must receive an immediate and effective response, regardless of geographical boundaries.

Khamenei also called for strengthening military intelligence structures, deepening indigenous defence capabilities in both doctrine and tactics, developing modern defence and security capabilities through new technologies, and reinforcing the armed forces’ morale and ideological commitment. He also stressed the need to continue efforts to meet their livelihood and logistical requirements.

In another directive, he ordered the updating of the target bank to ensure that all types of tangible and intangible assets belonging to what he described as the “American-Zionist enemy” would be within the reach of Iran’s armed forces.

He described national support for the armed forces as a key pillar of deterrence against what he called Iran’s hostile foreign adversaries and their domestic collaborators.

Khamenei further said that the Iranian public’s eight-month presence in the streets had continued the legacy of the eight-year Iran-Iraq War, adding that, alongside the perseverance of military, law enforcement and Basij forces, public mobilisation had helped protect—and would continue to protect—Iran’s territorial integrity and Islamic system.

He also praised what he described as the steadfastness of the Resistance Front in various countries, saying unity among its different arenas was a decisive factor in shaping a new political and security order in West Asia. He expressed hope that the emerging order would increasingly promote unity among Muslim nations and governments and contribute to the formation of a new Islamic civilisation.

During the meeting, Major General Abdollahi, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces; Major General Hatami, Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army; and Major General Vahidi, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, briefed the Supreme Commander on the readiness of Iranian forces along the Persian Gulf coast, in operational areas around the Strait of Hormuz, in the Sea of Oman, and along the country’s northwestern and southeastern borders.

They also reported a several-fold increase in the production of various types of ammunition and reconnaissance, support and combat weapons.

Khamenei expressed satisfaction with the activities carried out and asked the senior commanders to convey his appreciation and thanks to all military, law enforcement and Basij personnel, employees of the relevant organisations and Iran’s Defence Ministry, as well as their families.
