Foreign Policy: China Keeps Its Distance as Trump Seeks Help Over Iran Conflict

DID Press: China has no intention of intervening to help Donald Trump deal with the consequences of the war against Iran or to assist Washington in this regard, Foreign Policy magazine has written in an analysis.

According to the analysis, Beijing is approaching the war involving Iran cautiously and is unwilling to pressure Tehran into ending the conflict on terms and conditions set by the United States.

The publication adds that China prefers to maintain a cautious approach to the conflict and avoid taking any position that could be interpreted as supporting Washington’s policy toward Iran.

Earlier reports indicated that Trump had turned to China in an effort to persuade Beijing to pressure Iran.
