DID Press: An internal Israeli document reportedly reveals that Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate had formally warned that the risks of war with Iran outweighed its potential benefits.

According to the document, Israeli military intelligence warned that the Iranian government would not collapse, its nuclear programme would not be destroyed, the Strait of Hormuz could be closed, and Gulf countries would suffer significant economic damage.
The document further alleges that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ignored these warnings and persuaded US President Donald Trump to enter the war, despite opposition from senior American government officials.
It says the outcome was that Iran’s government not only remained in power but emerged stronger, while Trump and Israel are now facing the consequences of what it describes as a risky gamble.
