18 Candidates to Run for July Afghan Presidential Election
Candidate registration process ended on Sunday with 18 nominees registered to race for Afghan presidential election due to be held on 20 July 2019.
Candidate registration process ended on Sunday with 18 nominees registered to race for Afghan presidential election due to be held on 20 July 2019.
The registration of presidential candidates comes as the parliamentary elections held on October received piles of complaints.
After the elapse of three months, the final result of the parliamentary elections has not been announced yet.
However, 18 candidates along with their vice presidents registered themselves with the IEC to run for president.
The electoral tickets formed to run for presidency are as follows:
1- Ashraf Ghani: (Amrullah Saleh and Sarwar Danish)
2- Hanif Atmar: (Yunus Qanooni and Mohammad Mohaqiq)
3- Abdullah Abdullah: (Babur Farahmand and Asadullah Sa’adati)
4- Rahmatullah Nabil: (Murad Ali Murad and Masuda Jalal)
5- Ahmad Wali Massoud: (Farida Mahmand and Latif Nazari)
6- Noorulhaq Ulumi: (Bashir Bezhan and Naeem Ghaiyur)
7- Faramarz Tamanna: (Qeyas Saeedi and Amin Reshadat)
8- Latif Pedram: (Ehsanullah Haidari and M. Sadeq Wardak)
9- Zalmay Rassoul: (Abdul Jabbar Taqwa and Gholam Ali Wahdat)
10- Hakim Torsan: (Nadersha Ahmadzai and Shafe Qaisari)
11- Gulbuddin Hekmatyar: (Fazal Hadi Wazin and Hafiz Rahman Naqi)
