US special representative on Afghan peace process Zalmay Khalilzad met with Turkish president’s chief adviser Ibrahim Kalin in Washington.
Mr Khalilzad twitted Tuesday that he discussed Afghan peace process with Mr Kalin in Washington and rejected reports, suggesting that he is in Doha for talks with Taliban.
During the meeting, Mr Khalilzad appreciated Turkey’s commitment to Afghanistan.
“Turkey’s willingness to support the Afghan peace process is welcome,” he added.
US special envoy on Afghan peace process also denied reports, saying that Mr Khalilzad is in Doha for talks with Taliban delegation.
“Don’t believe reports that I’m in Doha. I’m enjoying a windy spring day in DC!” Khalilzad said.
