Taliban Delegation Visits Indonesia

An 8-member Taliban delegation led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, head of Qatar’s political office has left Qatar for a trip to Indonesia, the group said Friday.

An 8-member Taliban delegation led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, head of Qatar’s political office has left Qatar for a trip to Indonesia, the group said Friday.
Zabihullah Mujahid, who introduces himself as Taliban spokesman said that a delegation led by Mullah Baradar left Qatar for Indonesia on Friday.
“The trip focuses on building good political ties between the two countries, peace and cooperation for future of Afghanistan”, he said.

The Indonesian officials had previously traveled to Kabul and met with Afghan government officials as well as Taliban representatives in Qatar.
It is worth mentioning that Jakarta has hosted an Islamic conference in support of Afghan peace process.
