Dr Abdullah to Visit Pakistan after start of Intra-Afghan talks
The head of the High Council for National Reconciliation discussed the peace process with the Pakistani PM Imran Khan by phone.
During the talks, the Pakistan PM supported peace efforts in Afghanistan, hoping that Intra Afghan talks will begin as soon as possible, the office of Dr Abdullah said in a statement.
Peace and stability in Afghanistan means peace and stability in Pakistan as well as the start of more effective joint regional cooperation, Imran Khan stressed.
PM Khan also invited the chairman of high council for national reconciliation Abdullah Abdullah to visit Pakistan. Mr Abdullah accepted to visit Pakistan in the near future and after the start of intra-Afghan peace talks.
Abdullah Abdullah said that regional consensus and Pakistan’s cooperation key to achieve peace.
The two sides also emphasized that reducing violence could provide a good ground for peace talks.
This comes as the Taliban delegation led by Mullah Baradar on Tuesday conferred on the peace process with the Pakistani officials in Islamabad.
