Mujahid: UN Claims About Terrorism “Unrealistic”
DID Press: Zabihullah Mujahid, Taliban’s caretaker government spokesman, rejected a recent report by UN experts regarding the increasing threat of ISIS in Afghanistan, calling it “propaganda and unrealistic.”

Reacting to the report, Mujahid said, “since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, no illegal or unauthorized groups have been allowed to operate. What some international organizations publish is purely propaganda and baseless.”
This comes as the UN recently warned the Security Council that the ISIS-Khorasan branch (IS-K) remains a serious threat to global security, particularly in Europe and the United States.
The report said that ISIS’s activities in Afghanistan are increasing through online platforms to recruit foreign fighters, and concerns heightened about the return of foreign terrorists to Afghanistan.
Previously, Fasihuddin Fatrat, the head of the Taliban’s army staff, described reports about the presence of ISIS in Afghanistan as part of a “psychological war” against the Taliban government
