Winning Medals, Afghanistan Taekwondo Team Honored in Kazakhstan

DID Press: Afghanistan’s Olympic Committee praised members of the national taekwondo team after they secured silver and bronze medals at an international tournament in Kazakhstan.

The event was held in Astana from 14 to 16 August, bringing together 750 athletes from 22 countries. Tamim-ur-Rahman Rahmani won silver, while Hikmatullah Zain claimed bronze. Both athletes overcame tough competition to add to the nation’s sporting achievements.

In recent years, the national taekwondo team has delivered strong performances in Asian and international competitions, becoming one of the country’s most reliable medal-winning sports.

Officials confirmed the team is preparing to compete in upcoming Asian tournaments. The latest event also featured strong squads from South Korea, Iran, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
