Belgium Sanctions both Israel, Hamas, Citing EU Inaction Over Gaza War

DID Press: Belgium imposed sanctions on both Israel and Hamas, criticizing the EU’s failure to act and stop the war in Gaza.

The measures target violent settlers, settlement organizations, and include a ban on arms exports and transfers.

Belgium’s foreign minister said the move places the country at the “forefront” of Europe and strengthens its diplomatic credibility.

“Government has adopted at least 12 sanctions and measures within its own jurisdiction,” he said, adding that Belgium is “tired of the EU’s lack of effective action.”
