Taliban Government Publishes Footages of Female Aid Workers after Criticism

DID Press: Following widespread criticism over the absence of female doctors and aid workers in earthquake relief operations, Taliban caretaker government released footages claiming that special women’s teams are present on the ground.

In response to mounting concerns, Taliban-affiliated media outlets published images showing several female aid workers in uniform assisting victims in affected areas.

However, it remains unclear where the photos were taken or whether female teams have been deployed widely and effectively.

Humanitarian and rights groups, including the UN, have repeatedly warned the Taliban’s restrictions on women severely undermine relief efforts during crises such as earthquakes.

Observers say the move may be aimed at easing international pressure on the Taliban government.
