Supervisory Teams Formed to Monitor House Rents in Kabul

DID Press: Barkatullah Rasouli, spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice of Afghanistan’s caretaker government, announced the formation of joint local supervisory teams tasked with monitoring house rents across Kabul.

According to a statement released Wednesday (September 10, 2025), these teams comprise representatives from the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, Kabul Police Headquarters, intelligence agencies, Kabul Municipality, and other relevant departments. The teams began their work in all districts of Kabul as of Tuesday.

The decision was made during a committee meeting chaired by Mawlawi Abdul Karim Haider, Deputy Minister of Justice. The committee reviewed practical measures for enforcing rental regulations and tasked the monitoring teams with overseeing their implementation.

According to the committee’s resolution, house rents in 2025 should not exceed 10 percent compared to the previous year. All rental agents are required to comply with this rule, as violations will follow consequences.
