Afghanistan, Iran Boost Cooperation via Imam Reza International University
DID Press: In a meeting attended by Dr. Sayed Rouhollah Hussaini, Cultural Attaché of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan, and officials from Imam Reza International University, the sides underlined developing scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries, establishing knowledge-based companies, and strengthening scientific infrastructure. The meeting was held in the framework of “Afghan-Science” scientific and technological exhibition, with Imam Reza International University introduced as a regional hub for scientific and technological activities.

Regarding the “Afghan-Science” exhibition in Kabul, Dr. Hussaini met with the head of the Scientific and Cultural Organization of Astan Quds Razavi and emphasized the Iranian Cultural Attaché’s readiness to expand scientific and academic cooperation—particularly in the field of technology—with Imam Reza International University.
Dr. Hussaini described the capacities of Imam Reza University in Afghanistan as a valuable opportunity for advancing scientific goals, adding that “Regional scientific and cultural activities can be effectively pursued with this university as a focal point.”
He outlined shared opportunities between the two friendly and brotherly countries, highlighting the establishment of mechanisms for short-term programs for Afghanistan elites, expansion of science and technology parks, launch of joint knowledge-based companies, and strengthening scientific infrastructure as measures that will elevate the university’s regional standing.
Additionally, Dr. Hussaini provided a report on Afghanistan’s cultural and academic situation and reaffirmed the Iranian Cultural Attaché in Kabul’s readiness to cooperate and facilitate progress in this field.
Dr. Talebi, Director of International Affairs at the university, also presented a report on the status of Afghanistan students.
In conclusion, Dr. Daneshifar, the university president, pointing to the current conditions in Afghanistan, emphasized that the university is ready to strengthen its technological presence in Kabul, and the “Afghan-Science” exhibition provides an appropriate platform to achieve this goal.
