DID Press: US forces killed Mohammad Abdulwahab Al-Ahmad, a senior member and attack planner of Al-Qaeda-linked group Ansar al-Islam, during an operation in Syria last week, said US Department of Defense on Wednesday.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said the strike took place on Oct. 2, targeting Al-Ahmad, who was involved in planning, organizing, and executing terrorist operations.
“U.S. forces in the Middle East remain ready to disrupt and destroy terrorist efforts to plan, organize, and conduct attacks,” said Adam Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander, in a statement.
The exact location in Syria where Al-Ahmad was killed has not been disclosed.
