DID Press: US President Donald Trump is considering plans to bomb cocaine production sites and drug trafficking routes inside Venezuela, CNN reported on Thursday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

According to the report, the proposal includes limited airstrikes targeting drug manufacturing centers in Venezuela’s jungle regions and main transit routes to the Caribbean. The plan’s stated goal is to “cut off the financial lifeline of drug cartels,” sources said.
However, Pentagon has reportedly warned of political and military risks if such operations are carried out.
U.S. military officials told CNN that any strike against Venezuela without congressional approval and coordination with regional allies may trigger a direct confrontation with President Nicolás Maduro’s government.
The Trump administration has accused Venezuela of sheltering criminal networks and cooperating with drug trafficking organizations — allegations Caracas has dismissed as “a pretext for military aggression.”
