Iran, Russia Urge Continued Taliban-Pakistan Dialogue

DID Press: Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone call emphasizing the need for continued diplomatic engagement between the Taliban and Pakistan.

The two ministers expressed concern over recent border tensions and urged both sides to avoid actions that could escalate the situation, resolving disputes through dialogue and cooperation.

Regional security, counterterrorism, and anti-drug trafficking efforts were also discussed, along with Iran and Russia’s cooperation within international frameworks. The call was initiated by Iran.
