Taliban Inaugurates Paranda Hydropower Dam in Panjshir
DID Press: Paranda Hydropower Dam in Afghanistan’s Panjshir province was officially inaugurated Thursday in a ceremony attended by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Taliban government.

Speaking at the event, Baradar said the Islamic Emirate is firmly committed to economic self-sufficiency and national development, adding that Afghanistan will soon become a regional exporter of electricity.
He highlighted the country’s vast natural resources and energy potential, noting: “Afghanistan is blessed with abundant gifts — from the rivers of Kunar to the sunny plains of Helmand and Farah, and the strong winds of Herat and Nimroz. These resources can turn our country into one of the major power producers in the region.”
Baradar stressed that achieving energy independence is one of the government’s top priorities. “In the near future, Afghanistan will no longer depend on imported electricity and will be capable of supplying power to neighboring countries,” he added.
