Trump Orders Unprecedented Review of Biden-Era Refugees
DID Press: US President Donald Trump instructed the Immigration Department to re-evaluate the status of all refugees who entered the US during Joe Biden’s presidency, According to an internal U.S. government memo.

Reuters reported that, according to the memo signed by Joe Edlow, Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the review will cover approximately 233,000 refugees who arrived between January 20, 2021, and February 20, 2025.
The memo emphasizes that during this review, the process for granting permanent residency will be suspended to this group.
Under this directive, any case found not to meet the necessary criteria for asylum will have its refugee status revoked.
The memo was issued on November 21.
